2009 Ardrey Kell HS
Mighty Knight Invitational

Thanks to everyone for helping make our Invitational a huge success!!! We got a lot of positive feedback from the visiting bands and everything seemed to ruch much smoother than last year! Congratulations to all visiting bands on some great performances!!! Stay tuned for information about next year's event!

Dear Director of Bands,

You are cordially invited to participate in our 2nd annual Mighty Knight Invitational. This event will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in the brand new synthetic turf field stadium on the campus of Ardrey Kell High School. Ardrey Kell HS is conveniently located in Southern Charlotte, just minutes away from I-485, I-85, and I-77.

Even though this is only our 2nd year running a show at Ardrey Kell, I have previous experience running a marching band show at my former school. We hosted over 20 bands each year and the show was always a great success!!!

The Mighty Knight Invitational will be an early day show finishing somewhere around 3:00pm, so bands will be able to “double-up” and attend an evening show as well if they so wish, or will be able to make it home in time to go "trick-or-treating"! In addition to the competition, we will also be offering an Evaluation-only division, which will evaluate your Band only with the caption and overall ratings, not scores or placements. This class is ideal for the non-competitive Band.

Our adjudicators will provide valuable comments for both you and your students, as they possess many years of adjudicator experience in numerous states including FL, GA, NC, and SC. We will also hold a post-competition critique where you and your staff can meet with the judges and discuss their reactions to your performance in person.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any  additional questions or if there is anything that I can do to help make your marching season successful.

Sincerely,

Larry Shane
